Choosing your photographer might be daunting. Let me share a few thoughts on that and probably give you some ideas. Photography is a very subjective thing. ‘Good photos’ might mean absolutely different things to different people. For example, you might not like yourself in the photo while all others are sure it’s a great picture of you. Looking for a photographer, check his portfolio first. Studio or in-home visit?
You are very keen to do a newborn photo shoot and now you are thinking if you should go for an in-home visit or come to the studio? Well, there’s no right or wrong answer here. Coming to my studio has some pros and cons. Let’s start with pros. It’s a good reason to come out and have a break from your everyday routing with the baby. There’s one thing that I really love about maternity photo shoots. It’s when you bring your own outfit. It can be a traditional dress, smart casual clothes or a gown which very special for you. It gives a very personal touch to the photos making them one of a kind. I have a wide collection of beautiful maternity dresses which you are welcome to borrow for the session at no extra cost. To smile or not to smile?
During my baby and family sessions I can hear ‘smile baby!’ almost constantly. It doesn’t matter if the baby is 2 weeks or 5 years old, it’s always the same. Just recently I had a mum telling off to her 3 months old baby ‘You are such a naughty girl, you didn’t smile during your photo shoot!’ Even during a maternity session you ask me ‘Should I smile?’ Nope, you shouldn’t! And leave your kids, just let them be. If they are happy and feel like to smile, they’ll smile. And it w
